“Super Tuesday” has passed and with it the Kansas Democratic Caucus. This would have been my first opportunity to participate in a presidential caucus; all previous states I’ve resided held primaries. I was particularly driven to participate because of my belief in one candidate, Barack Obama. For the largest majority of my adult life I’ve been an independent. I’m still an independent, however Kansas Democrats have an open caucus that allows independents to register and participate. Ultimately, I didn’t make it to the caucus location which wasn’t terribly far from Colby (it was in Oakley) because we were under a foot of snow.  Hopefully when the November general election arrives we won’t already be experiencing blizzard conditions.
